Fresh Fleurie Flannels

Fresh Fleurie Flannels

Things are in full bloom this summer thanks to my brand new collection of fluffy “Fleurie” flannels with Robert Kaufman! These vintage-inspired florals include patterns of dewy dales, weeping willows, and quaint quatrefoil that can be effortlessly mixed and matched with prints of burgeoning blossoms, precious posies, and scattered sprigs.

These pretty perennials even have a perky palette courtesy of a plethora of coral, mint, and gray tones. For you fellow color nerds, I’ve posted a vintage ad and groovy Pinterest find that were big inspirations for the “Fleurie” hues. While you’re there, you might also spy a couple of preliminary sketches I made of the weeping willow and burgeoning blossoms patterns that show how these designs began life before becoming cozy yardage!

Speaking of comfy, the sewing gurus over at Robert Kaufman have whipped up two FREE quilt patterns out of these “Fleurie” flannels. First, “Flowers From France” is a colorful kaleidoscope of the entire cushy collection. “Basic Blocks” also offers a pretty patchwork of these petal patterns. Each quilt kit makes the project easy peasy with a list of supplies needed, illustrations of fabrics needed, required yardage, cutting instructions, and assembly details with diagrams.

So swing on over to a store near you or shop online to snuggle into your own bouquet of blossoms full of fuzzy flannels!
